Bhubaneswar / Gopalpur, June 05, 2025: Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, today laid foundation stones for five new industrial projects at the Gopalpur Industrial Park (GIP), developed by Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited (TSSEZL). The event took place in Ganjam, Odisha, in the presence of senior officials from the State Government, local community representatives, TSSEZL officials, and existing industry stakeholders at GIP.
Hon’ble CM said, “Ganjam has achieved significant milestones in the industrial sector. Due to availability of improved infrastructure, presence of a leading port and skilled manpower, investors have been showing interest to establish their units in the district.” “With investments in green hydrogen, chemicals and renewable energy sector, Ganjam is set to create a new benchmark in the industrial sector,” he added.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries including Shri Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, Minister of Commerce & Transport, Steel & Mines, Government of Odisha; Shri Gokulananda Mallik, Minister of Fisheries & Animal Resources Development, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of Odisha; Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister of Industries and Skill Development & Technical Education, Government of Odisha and Shri Manikanta Naik, Managing Director of Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited.

The projects for which foundation stones were laid include:

It highlights the conducive industrial environment fostered at GIP, aimed at encouraging innovation and long-term investment. The concerted effort of our team, strong industry partnerships, and continued support from the Government of Odisha have been instrumental in reaching this milestone. I sincerely thank the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha for his invaluable presence and guidance. We remain committed to advancing GIP as a multi-sector industrial hub and to facilitate further industrial growth in the state.”
The Green Hydrogen and Ammonia produced from the Industrial Park shall be primarily for export purposes. This expansion brings the total number of Green Hydrogen/Ammonia industries at GIP to four, firmly establishing it as one of the largest Green Hydrogen hubs in the country. Among the solar cell and module manufacturers, Saatvik Solar Industries is set to establish a 4.80 GW integrated cell and 4.00 GW module manufacturing facility, while World Green Energy will develop a 2.00 GW cell and 1.20 GW module manufacturing unit.

Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited is developing its flagship industrial park in Odisha known as Gopalpur Industrial Park (GIP). The company plans to develop the industrial park as an emerging manufacturing hub for both domestic and export-oriented industries. The company provides common infrastructure facilities, plug-and-play utility infrastructure, and associated services to facilitate the smooth grounding of the incoming units.
Different industrial units are already operating in Gopalpur Industrial Park including Tata Steel Limited, Tata Consumer Products Limited, East Coast Overseas Private Limited, and Odimet Resources Private Limited.
Besides, a Technical Ammonium Nitrate Complex by Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation Limited, and one L-CNG Handling Unit by GAIL Gas Limited are being established in the Park. Last year, the Park onboarded Avaada GreenH2 Private Limited and Acme Clean Energy Private Limited for manufacturing Green Hydrogen / Ammonia.
Recently, GIP has been onboarded with World Economic Forum (WEF) as a ‘Transitioning Industrial Cluster’ for its involvement in promoting green/renewable energy and working towards adopting clean energy solutions.
